DJ LEELOO JOINS POINT BLANK
It has been a long time coming but, it has finally happened. I am now officially a fresher at pointblank Music School. However, before I get into what I’m there for. First, I want to get into a little history to what led up to this moment.
Back in September of 2023, I was studying music at college on a Access to HE: Music course. One of the requirements of my course was to send in my personal statement to my teacher for an assignment, in my head I wasn’t thinking about university due to previous experiences being off putting but one day, while scrolling through UCAS I discovered pointblank.
I went to a open day there and at first, I was a bit nervous about being accepted there due to the qualification I was studying at the time but as the day went on, my nervousness turned into reassurance and excitement. I can recall saying to my mum “I don’t know about you, but this uni; This is the one.”
I then proceeded to check out two other universities before making the decision on the three that would ultimately end up on my UCAS application, and sometime in December my UCAS application got sent out to the universities.
On the 20th of December, just 4 days before Christmas. I received an email from the pointblank admissions team which drove me to tears of happiness, I had been given an unconditional offer for the course of my choice. Many months later, I leave college with my grades being the second best in my class.
I could not wait for pre-enrolment, I was giddy and exited for my first day at pointblank. I was also exited about the new facilities that they had to offer for the freshers in September this year. That excitement powered me to start making musical content regularly again since December last year.
September 24th came around, after several months waiting to finally be enrolled. Me and my mum (who doubles as my manager), went to their campus in Penn Street, Hoxton to get enrolled and to become a student at pointblank.
Now that I’ve explained the history, it’s time to answer the question that you’ve probably had in your head reading this, what do I want to do at pointblank Music School. The answer to that is longwinded but I’ll try to break it down.
I am studying the three year BA Honours Music Production and DJ Performance degree, not only to achieve a university degree in a subject I’m deeply passionate about, but to gain experience in the music industry and learn what the industry has to offer in terms of music production and DJing. I’m also there to gain connections within the industry to further my reach as a DJ and a Music Producer.
Cheers pointblank! I am looking forward to spending time learning and flourishing in your environment.
